DJ for Life Fitness at the after-fair party in Cologne
For the second time, I had the honour of DJing for my client Life Fitness at the FIBO trade fair in Cologne. This time, however, it wasn't a stand party in the exhibition halls, but an external evening event at the KölnSKY event location. Compared to the hustle and bustle of the trade fair, it was a welcome change for the guests to network in a relaxed atmosphere.
The FIBO trade fair in Cologne: The highlight of the fitness industry
The FIBO Trade Fair Cologne is the world's largest trade fair for fitness, health and wellness. Every year, thousands of trade visitors, exhibitors and experts gather to find out about the latest trends in the fitness industry. The trade fair is known for its high level of dynamism and the many innovations that are presented there.
But while the trade fair is characterised by intensive presentations and loud music beats in the halls, there is also room for relaxed formats - and that was precisely the aim of the evening event organised by my client Life Fitness.
DJ for trade fair event in Cologne: relaxed evening for networking
Life Fitness is one of the world's leading providers of fitness solutions and high-quality training equipment design, including cardio and strength equipment, as well as innovative digital fitness solutions.
The intention for the Life Fitness after-fair event was clearly defined: After a long and hectic day at the trade fair in Cologne, the guests were to enjoy a quiet, pleasant evening where the focus was to be on socialising and networking. While the FIBO trade fair itself is often dominated by noise and energy, this year the client wanted to create a deliberately relaxed atmosphere. The event took place at KölnSKY - a location known for its exclusive atmosphere and with a view over the rooftops of the cathedral city, it provided the perfect setting for a relaxed exchange of ideas.
Mission FIBO trade fair in Cologne: Provide a relaxed evening as a DJ
As the DJ for the trade fair event, I had the task of finding a musical balance: the guests should feel comfortable and not be disturbed during their conversations, but the sounds shouldn't be too reserved either. I opted for a mix of soft cover versions, swing, relaxed house, and Afrobeats, which offered the guests a pleasant groove without drowning out their conversations.
This mix proved to be perfect, because while the guests were chatting with drinks in their hands and tasty finger food at the evening trade fair event, you could tell that many of them were unconsciously tapping their feet or moving to the beat. This type of musical background sound - relaxed, laid-back, but with a good groove - definitely created the right mood. The focus was on the atmosphere, so these were just the right sounds to make the evening lively and relaxed at the same time.
The right songs enhance the networking atmosphere
The evening event was a complete success and went exactly according to plan from a musical and DJ perspective. The mission to offer the guests a relaxed alternative to the hectic everyday life at the trade fair in Cologne was fulfilled 100 %. A pleasant, relaxed atmosphere prevailed until the end of the event at 10.00 pm. New contacts were made in conversations, the guests enjoyed the fantastic view of Cologne Cathedral at sunset, while the music provided the perfect background beats.
As a trade fair DJ, it is always an exciting challenge for me to choose the right songs to emphasise the mood without dominating. In my opinion, this is one of the most important keys to a successful networking event.
DJ Messe Köln - Life Fitness and the perfect after-fair event
The gig for Life Fitness at the FIBO trade fair in Cologne confirmed for me once again that trade fair exhibitors can still inspire trade fair visitors with special stand party formats. FIBO may be loud and full of energy, but the Life Fitness event shows that a trade fair continues after the official trade fair hours and that relaxed party vibes have their place in business after a busy day. I'm already looking forward to playing as a DJ for Life Fitness and other exciting clients at the FIBO trade fair in Cologne.
